Status of the Project
This is the status as of March 9, 2007.
Organizing Committe on March 9 decides to cancel
workshop.
At a meeting on March 9, the Organizing Committee voted to cancel the
Workshop. The main reason was the relatively low number of submitted
abstracts. About 10 abstracts had been submitted or promised but the
deadline of February 16 was well passed and the notice of acceptance
was due. Under the circumstances, the Committee felt that there was not
enough material for a high quality workshop, and that the economic risk
to go ahead was too great for the main organizer, the Sweden Section of
IEEE.
Sponsorship
We have recieved a generous grant
from the IEEE Foundation. We have also received a grant from CF,
the Swedish
Association of Graduate Engineers. Because of the early cancelleation,
not much money was actually spent, however.
In spite of the need to cancel the Workhop, there was a strong feeling
among the members of the comittee that there was continued interest in
the subject matter of the workshop and that there might be support to
renew the effort in some form.
